# Branch map

Export a floor-plan overlay showing electrical branch assignments.

The Branch Map renders a visual overlay of electrical branch (panelboard) assignments on the floor plan — spaces colored by their branch, with branch labels. It's the electrical counterpart to the mechanical [Zone Map](/reference/exports/zone-map.md).

## Opening the Branch Map

With **Electrical** selected in the discipline switcher, open the hamburger menu (≡) → **File** → **Export** → **Branch Map**. The Branch Map export modal opens.

> **On-canvas overlay vs. export.** The **Views** switcher in the top nav bar can also toggle a **Branch Map** overlay directly on the canvas for quick reference while you work. The **Export → Branch Map** modal is the version you download.

## What it shows

* Floor plan background for the selected floor (with an optional halftone treatment)
* Space outlines colored by branch (panelboard) assignment
* Branch name labels
* A legend card and a data table, both repositionable

Spaces with no branch assignment appear without branch color.

## Layout controls

The export view is interactive before you download:

| Control             | What it does                                                          |
| ------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Floor selector      | Switch the floor being previewed and exported                         |
| Label toggles       | Show or hide the on-map labels                                        |
| Table columns       | Choose which columns appear in the data table                         |
| Halftone background | Lighten the floor-plan background so colored spaces read more clearly |
| Drag                | Reposition labels, the legend card, and the table card                |
| Pan / zoom          | Frame the drawing within the page                                     |
| Reset               | Per-floor reset and a reset-all control                               |

## Exporting

Select **Download** to export. The map exports as an **11×17 landscape PDF**, one page per floor, with a "Page N of M" footer and the floor name printed on each page. Labels, legend, and table are placed where you dragged them.
